Fall 2025 Events

Monthly Evangelism
During the semester, the Jenkins Center team plans an opportunity once a month to go out and share the Gospel with Muslims locally. We gather for a meal and prayer at the Jenkins Center before going out in teams to various locations with the aim of meeting Muslims and engaging them in spiritual conversations. We look forward to sharing Jesus together and watching what the Lord will do!
For our first evangelism ministry of the semester on August 30th, we’ll be heading to WorldFest, an annual international festival that draws over 150,000 attendees during Labor Day weekend. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and share the Gospel. Please sign up below so we can plan well for carpooling and food.

Was the Quran Perfectly Preserved in Transmission and Canonization?
Our guest speaker for this event, Dr. Rami Hussein Halaseh, is an academic and Christian scholar specializing in Quranic studies, holding a Ph.D. in Quran textual criticism and manuscripts. He served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Harvard University and earned his doctorate from the University of St. Andrews in the United Kingdom, a master’s degree in Islamic studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine and surgery. His research centers on the early development and transmission of the Quranic text. Dr. Halaseh’s work has appeared in peer-reviewed academic journals, and he has presented numerous research papers and lectures at universities and academic conferences in both the United Kingdom and the United States. He is the author of The Topkapı Quran Manuscript H.S. 32: History, Text, and Variants (De Gruyter, 2024) and has a forthcoming scholarly volume on the history and theology of the Council of Nicaea.
Dr. Halaseh will be giving a lecture titled “Was the Quran Perfectly Preserved in Transmission and Canonization?” This lecture examines the processes of transmission and canonization of the Quran through a focused case study of an early manuscript, one of the most significant early Quranic codices. It explores the manuscript’s historical context, textual features, and variant readings, highlighting their implications for understanding the early history of the Quranic text.
There will be two lectures in one evening, with dinner in between. Please RSVP so we can plan well for space and food. We look forward to seeing you!
